As someone who comes on this site for the purpose of socializing, I like to know
when my friends are online. However, I like to stay in the quick note console
and keep public quick notes off. i would like to suggest that login and logout
notifications be displayed whether or not a person uses public quick notes
I tend to agree with that actually. But then, one has to think about whether we only want to see people on a watch list, or everyone? Currently we don't really have the concept of a friends list at all on here, but I know I wouldn't want to see every single login notification in console.
I like this suggestion. I think it would be nice to see login and logout notifications on console for people we talk to regularly. Maybe we could add people to a Person Watch list and have the notes pop up on console, or just when we have private notes turned off, when our friends log in and out. Not sure how feasible it would be in terms of implementation. I have 0 knowledge of such things! But it would be worth considering in my mind.
there is already a person watch list for when you are not logged onto the site. It requires a premium membership to add people to it and you'll get email notifies when a person logs in.
as for when you are in the console itself, that might be ok if it can e be turned on and off and perhaps a faves. list.
That email notification only works if you happen to be on the computer and have your email program turned on. I used it when it first became a feature, but nine times out of ten I would get an email about a friend logging in too late to do anything about it. I like the poster's suggestion here of being able to get notification of friends logging in when you are in the console. But having every single log in and log off notice would be irritating.
I like this idea, especially since not everyone decides to waste money on this thing. That, and a friends list would be nice.
It is a good idea, but might be premium. Would you pay the membership for it?
Smile.
Wayne, I don't think you'd have to worry about whether it would be a premium feature or not, as I don't see it getting implemented in the first place.
True, but still? Lol
It would be a good idea, but like Alicia said probably won't happen.
I like this idea. Well for those of us who have smart phones, you can see the
e-mail if you're not on the computer, but you may not be able to do anything
about it. I said something about having a friends list, but people were saying
that it wouldn't be necissary as the same people tend to log in everyday. I
still think it would be nice though because you could add people to it.
